Flour exports from Kazakhstan to China increased by 148%

Kazakhstan exported 1.1 MMT of flour in September-February 2018/19, or 19.5% less than a year earlier, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The top importer of Kazakh flour – Afghanistan – purchased 755.8 KMT in September-February 2018/19 (down 18.1% year-on-year). Uzbekistan, the second biggest buyer of the Kazakh commodity, reduced imports to 254.1 KMT this season (down 34.6% from the same period last season).

At the same time, China boosted flour imports from Kazakhstan to 24.5 KMT against 16.6 KMT it bought in the whole of MY 2017/18.

In addition, the reporting period witnessed a 55% surge in exports to a major market such as Tajikistan.
