Kazakhstan stepping up sunflower oil exports
Sunflower oil exports from Kazakhstan in July 2018/19 were record high for this month, at 7.6 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.
This season’s exports (September-July 2018/19) hit a record high of 74.1 KMT (up 0.7% year-on-year).
China is the top importer (36% of total exports) despite a 15.7% drop in its purchases.
The list of importers includes 11 countries. In the 2018/19 season, Kazakhstan exported sunflower oil to the Netherlands for the first time ever, and the US and Belgium resumed purchases from the country;
Growth in exports was registered to Uzbekistan (+38%). A slowdown in exports was to the following countries: Afghanistan (-41%) and Tajikistan (-5%).
