Romania. Corn exports to Turkey to reach new record this season
According to official data, in September-February 2019/20 MY Romania exported all time high level of corn.
Exports are 49.7% higher compared to the same period of 2018/19 MY and 73% higher than the 5-year average for September-February thanks to the abundant corn crop, UkrAgroConsult reports.
This season Romania continued to expand its share on the non-EU destinations, particularly Turkey (+214% y/y) and Egypt (+293% y/y), supplying record volume for the given time period. In 2018/19 corn exports to Turkey reached record.
Moreover, higher demand was seen from the traditional EU importers – Spain (+100%), Italy (+39%) and Netherlands (+37%).
