Romania. Seeding of sunflower and corn is almost complete
Higher air temperatures were observed in south-eastern Romania this past week, when the average air temperature exceeded the norms by 2..4°С. The average daytime temperature varied within +11..+25°С.
Abundant rains fell in the North, Center and South-West of Romania (35-50 mm for the week) improving soil moisture reserves. Soil drought persists in the East and the South-East where amount of precipitations equaled no more than 5-10 mm over the week.
Winter wheat and barley are in the stage of stem elongation – heading. Winter rape plants are in the stage of flowering. Seeding of sunflower and corn is almost complete in Romania, reports UkrAgroConsult.
During the current week heavy rains are expected in the North, Center and the South, while South-East will be again short of precipitations.
