Romania. Wheat export pace is slower than last season
After a good start, pace of wheat exports from Romania slowed down in October. According to the port data, in October 2019/20 MY Romania exported 47% less than in the same month of 2018/19 MY. Still, the exported volume was above the 5-year average for this month, reports UkrAgroConsult.
In October 2019 key buyers of Romanian wheat were Egypt, Jordan and Thailand.
In July-October 2019/20 MY Romania exported 4% less wheat compared to the record volume in the same period last season. In the last 3 seasons wheat exports in July-October averaged 2600 KMT.
Higher demand is seen from Egypt and Sudan. South Korea increased purchases against 63 KMT over the whole last season. Thailand, which imported only 20 KMT in 2018/19, has increased purchases to 238.2 KMT.
Exports are lower to Jordan, Ethiopia and a number of the EU countries such as Spain, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
