Russia. An experimental 100 ha to be planted to sunflower in Moscow region
A sunflower cultivation experiment will be conducted in Moscow region this year. Some 100 ha will be planted to this crop for oilseed, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Sunflower varieties allowed for cultivation in Moscow region were specially selected for the experiment.
In October 2018, the Moscow region authorities signed an agreement with LLC Serebryanoprudskaya Grain Company. The agreement envisages the establishment of a seed breeding center within the towns of Serebryanye Prudy and Zaraysk. The project investment will amount to over RUB 1 Bl. The center will produce seeds of oil crops, cereals and feed crops for meeting the needs of not only Moscow region, but also neighboring regions in central Russia.
