Russia. Price growth was observed on wheat export market

Price growth is observed in the export market of Russian wheat for the first time since early February. On average, export prices for Russian milling wheat closed the week up another $2-3/MT FOB in both deep-water and small ports for April-May delivery. They were pushed up by global market trends along with a strengthening rouble against the U.S. dollar, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The high level of both export and domestic prices for wheat in the 2018/19 season pushes farmers not only to increase winter wheat acreage, but also to somewhat restore that of spring wheat.

Farmers in the Southern and North Caucasian federal districts have already started planting spring barley and wheat, i.e. three weeks earlier than last year.
