Russian exporters increased corn shipments to China
According to preliminary information, Russia exported 2.7 MMT of corn in MY 2018/19 that is 52.4% less than in MY 2017/18 and the least in seven years, reports UkrAgroConsult.
The number of importing countries dropped to 32 (46 in MY 2017/18).
Growth in exports was registered to the following key markets: China (+116%), Iran (+48%), Japan (+29%).
Exports to the majority of key markets decreased: South Korea (-98%), Turkey (-87%), EU (-54%), Georgia (-24%); Belarus (-32%).
Major 2017/18 importers such as Vietnam and Syria imported no Russian corn in MY 2018/19.
