Sunflower oil exports from Ukraine approach USD 3 bln in Jan-Aug
In January-August 2019, Ukraine exported 4.1 mln t of sunflower oil worth USD 2.8 bln.
The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine reports that the key importers of sunflower, safflower or cotton oil in the reporting period are as followed:
India — USD 933.9 mln (33.24%);
China — USD 369.4 mln (13.15%);
the Netherlands — USD 334.3 mln (11.9%);
other — USD1.17 bln (41.72%).
Previously reported that India planned to impose an extra 5% tax on vegetable oil imports within weeks and use the revenue to help boost the country’s stagnating oilseed production.
