Ukraine. Rainfall substantially replenished soil moisture supply
Weather conditions. Relatively warm weather dominated the entire country on May 21-31, featuring rainfall of various intensities, locally with hail. The average daily air temperature was 1.5-5.8°С above normal, at 15.2 to 21.5°С. The highest air temperature reached +25-29°С. The lowest air temperature on the coldest nights was down at +10-16°С.
Moisture supply. Rainfall substantially replenished soil moisture supply, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Crop condition. In general, winter and spring grains and pulses in most areas are rated good and fair. Growth of late crops in Carpathian areas may get adversely affected by excess of soil moisture. Yellowing, slow growth and development of plants are observed in some fields, particularly in relief depressions.
