Ukraine. Vioil increasing production of high oleic sunflower oil

In MY 2018/19, Vioil Group’s Vinnytsia fat-and-oil plant has already processed over 100 KMT of high oleic sunflower seed and produced over 40 KMT of high oleic sunflower oil, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In the opinion of Vioil Group, strengthening global demand for high oleic sunflower oil will contribute to an expansion of high oleic sunflower plantings in Ukraine. While farmers planted 300 Th ha to this crop last year, the sown area of high oleic sunflower may reach 400 Th ha as soon as this season.

The main factor driving up its acreage is a premium crushers are ready to pay. Now it reaches $75/MT. At the same time, growing high oleic sunflower requires no special agronomic practices.

As before, the traditional buyers of the company’s high oleic sunflower oil are the EU and Southeast Asian countries.
